Lytebwoy: A Star on the Rise
Meet Lytebwoy, born Eti Israel Evogor, a rising Nigerian singer and songwriter hailing from Igbo Imabana, Abi Local Government Area in Cross River State. Born on May 6, 2002, Lytebwoy is making his way into the Afrobeats scene with a distinctive sound, heartfelt lyrics, and an inspiring journey rooted in resilience and creativity.
Growing up, his passion for music wasn’t initially embraced. “At first, my parents didn’t support it,” he shares. “But the drive inside me wouldn’t let me stop.” Despite facing resistance and being disciplined for pursuing his dreams, Lytebwoy remained committed. His breakthrough came when their home became a hub for music lovers and learners, leading his parents to gradually accept his path.
His musical journey was further shaped by playing instruments in church and performing with live bands—experiences that helped him refine his skills and build confidence. Influenced by artists like Wizkid and Burna Boy, Lytebwoy began developing his own sound that fuses Afrobeats, Afropop, and Dancehall.
His turning point came during a freestyle session among friends. “They were so excited about my delivery, they told me I needed to take music seriously. That moment gave me the push I needed,” he recalls.
In early 2024, Lytebwoy stepped into the studio officially, releasing his first song “Annabel My Lover”, which became the opening chapter of his debut EP titled “Shine.” The project showcases his musical identity—rich melodies, relatable storytelling, and sonic versatility.
“When I play my guitar, melodies just pour out. That’s how most of my songs come to life,” he says, reflecting on his creative process. While navigating the challenges of promotion and digital distribution, he received guidance from PR strategist Joe Octave, introduced through mutual friends Taurus and Jaywheez. Octave encouraged him to compile his songs into a cohesive body of work—thus, Shine was born.

Among all, “Pray” and “Lesson” hold deep personal meaning to him, representing his journey, lessons learned, and aspirations. The EP was produced by Blizzy Beatz, with a vibrant collaboration from Taurus D Bull, further elevating the project.
Already gaining attention, Lytebwoy’s music has been reposted by artists like Iyanya, Khaid, and Wizboy, signaling that his sound is beginning to make waves in the industry.
Looking ahead, he has big dreams. “I want my music to reach the world and become one of the most listened-to artists globally,” he says. With an upcoming collaboration alongside Killerbwoy Jaywheez, Lytebwoy promises even more exciting music on the horizon.
“This is only the beginning,” he adds. “I’m here to stay, and I’m ready to shine.”
