Klassiq Cruze: From Pain to Purpose

Introducing Klassiq Cruze, born Akunjor Samuel Nton, a gifted and resilient artist from Ikom L.G.A, Cross River State, Nigeria. Born in 1998, he stands as the only surviving child of the late Dr. Akunjor Agbama Akunjor—a background that has deeply shaped his identity and music.

Orphaned at a young age, Klassiq Cruze turned to music as his emotional sanctuary. “Through every scar and setback, music became my healing space,” he reflects. Inspired by legends like DMX, Eminem, Michael Jackson, M.I Abaga, and more, he began transforming his life experiences into lyrics and sound—giving his pain a powerful purpose.

The Beginning of a Musical Journey

His musical journey officially began in 2016 with his debut track, “Street Anthem,” a collaborative cypher with rapper Nice Chriz. By 2018, he started gaining visibility with the release of “Child’s Play,” which garnered traction across various platforms.

Klassiq Cruze’s style is anything but one-dimensional. He blends Hip-Hop, Drill Trap, Afrobeats, Afroswing, R&B Soul, and Dancehall, drawing inspiration from global icons like Fela Kuti, Eminem, Nas, Jay-Z, Skepta, Central Cee, and Wizkid. His sound is a reflection of his truth—raw, expressive, and driven by emotion.

“My sound is birthed from real-life experiences and raw emotions—it’s what makes it unique,” he says. Yet, like many independent artists, gaining global exposure remains a challenge he’s determined to overcome.

Oluwason (Son of Grace): A Testament of Trials and Triumph

His latest album, “Oluwason (Son of Grace),” is a deeply personal project that chronicles his life’s journey—from grief and betrayal to survival and spiritual awakening.

The 9-track album includes:

  1. Fire
  2. Kpeskelemece (feat. Taurus D Bull)
  3. Ma Sóró
  4. Atitila
  5. NHF (No Hard Feelings)
  6. Hustle
  7. Bitter Truth (feat. Iceboxx)
  8. Where Dem Dey?
  9. Child’s Play

Each track paints a vivid picture of his battles, but “NHF (No Hard Feelings)” holds a special place in his heart. “It captures the depth of my emotional growth and inner strength,” he explains.

Collaborations with artists like Taurus D Bull and Iceboxx add richness to the album, making it a well-rounded, soul-stirring experience.

“The creative process was demanding but fulfilling. This album speaks to life, love, struggle, and evolution. There’s a piece of me in every track.”

Beyond the Mic: Creativity Without Limits
